Photos from the other coach

We finally managed to download photos from the other camera which means you should spot a few different faces! It's been another super day - even though the rain arrived. And now we're looking forward to the annual Year 6 talent show. See you all tomorrow!

A message from the girls

This morning  looks like another good day for us to go to Carding Mill valley or on the Stiperstone walk. Our week so far has been amazing and Blists hill was the best because of our experience in the schoolroom.Every morning we have had to make our own lunch which surprisingly everyone has really enjoyed. We also have been given amazing cooked breakfast and delicious dinners with awesome puddings.Everyone is excited about tonight because it is the Preston Monford talent show!!!!! It will be a great opportunity to showcase your own talent and watch other people's.
The teachers have been really supportive with all of us, and have prevented so much homesickness! We are very grateful!
We'll update soon,
Hannah, Elise and Alice:)

More sunshine!

It's another beautiful day and at the moment it's so peaceful! The children are all still asleep - yesterday's Victorian exertions tired them all out! In a minute, they'll all be woken up by their cheerful teachers - ready for another day of Preston Montford magic. Then it's all systems go to get breakfast, pack up lunches and put on the sun cream before heading out into the beautiful Shropshire countryside once again. More photos later!

Thoughts from the children

We spent the day at Blists Hill, the school room was really realistic, so much so that we will be saying yes ma'am n our sleep! .Helen and Richard were really strict and picked on Clare, Mel and Julia..  The candle shop was fantastic - it had a machine that could dip 1000 candles in 90 minutes.  The Victorian sweet shop was excellent and we're just about to tidy our rooms for room inspection.  We really enjoyed going around the village with our friends - the swingboats were fun and it was great when Mary took us up the Hay Incline Plane although she made us walk all the way...  We saw what a poor man's house looked like compared with a rich man's house.  We liked the poor man's house because it was comfy and had a good structure outside which made us think of family.  Also it had a better privvy!

Blists Hill

It's been another magnificent day! The sun shone on the Victorian town of Blists Hill as the children stepped back in time. Lessons were learnt in the strict traditional schoolroom and then the children explored the town finding out about all its inhabitants and tradespeople. The whole year group enjoyed a bit of free time, shopping for gifts before heading back for afternoon refreshments.

End of a lovely day!

What a fantastic day - we even had moments in the sunshine and not a drop of rain! This is such a beautiful part of the world and the whole of year 6 appreciated a day out in the fresh air- we were so impressed by the children's stamina, spirit and wonder at creation. Both groups had fun and now we're back at base ready for bed! An early night after all the exertion, ready for a day at Blists Hill tomorrow.

Year 6 out and about!

And finally they were off! Breakfast finished, bags packed, lunches made, waterproofs on ...and then we were all set! Half the year group to tackle the Stiperstones and the other half river dipping in Cardingmill Valley. Photos to come!
